The 2016 Exposures Cross-cultural Youth Arts Summer Program will be hosted in Vermont and will consist of three weeks of intensive cross-cultural and photography programming. Participants from throughout the country will meet in Putney, Vt., for the start of the program, where they will live together in dorm housing, cook and clean together, get to know one another, and work on collaborative projects. During the days, participants will travel to Marlboro, Vt., to use Marlboro College’s excellent art facilities for classroom programming, studio time, lectures and more. Trips to local and historic landmarks, and visits from guest speakers and teachers who specialize in art, culture, and community will shape the program. Participants will go on group camping trips, have daily photographic opportunities, and much more.
Throughout the program, participants are encouraged to learn from their peers and from the host community, and use art and photography to think critically about cultural differences and commonalities.
